Merry Christmas!

Sean and I wish all of our dance families the most amazing holiday ever! The studio will be closed from Monday, December 23, 2024 through to Saturday, January 4, 2025. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6, 2025.

Costume Deposit Due January 1, 2025

A $50 deposit per dancer per class will be added to the accounts in January. If you are enrolled in autopay, these charges DO NOT automatically come off your card. Please log on to your portal to make a payment or send an e-transfer.

Update Family Contact Information

For safety reasons, we require at least two emergency contacts with phone numbers for each family. You can easily update your family contact information in the portal as well. Having your information updated is crucial, especially as recital time approaches. We’ll be using the portal to share important information, schedules, and updates.

Here’s how:

  • Go to “Settings”
  • Click on “Family Contacts”
  • Select “Add New” to add additional contacts

If you encounter any difficulties accessing the portal or completing these steps, please don’t hesitate to stop by the office. Kathryn will be happy to assist you!

Online Store

There are a few items of clothing and other items that we have in stock and are listed for sale on our online store in your parent portal. Some sizes are limited but talk to Kathryn and we can see about placing another order in the new year. T-shirts and Crewnecks are made with a supplier in Brantford and have a 3-4 week turnaround.

Winter Weather Reminders

  1. When the snow flies, please remove snowy boots and all shoes at the door and place them on the shelves to avoid a slushy mess.
  2. Parents, please also remove your shoes! Bring slippers if you wish.
  3. In the case of inclement weather, please check your email as we will notify you. You can also phone the studio, check the website, or look on our group Facebook page. Dancers whose classes are cancelled can make it up by attending a similar class.
  4. Please make sure you are wearing YOUR OWN BOOTS HOME! Since so many of us have the same style of winter boot, please label at home and check the size carefully before leaving the studio. Many kids have been stranded without boots because someone else has mistakenly worn the wrong pair home!

Recital Costumes

Jane Dawson is our costume coordinator for recreational recital dances. She will be measuring all dancers for recital costumes from Monday, January 6, 2025 – Monday, January 13, 2025. Please inform us if your child will be away that week and we will provide you with alternative dates to meet with Jane and get measured.

We must place the order by mid-January to guarantee that they arrive on time for our spring recitals. Therefore, it is imperative that dancers who want to switch or drop a class do so now! If not, you will be responsible for paying for the costume ordered. A reminder that there are also NO REFUNDS given on dropped classes after January!

Lost and Found

Please check the lost and found boxes located in the girls’ change rooms before the Christmas holidays. Please label all items for easy recovery. We will be emptying the bins so check ASAP!

In addition, please have your dancer clean out his/her locker so that my cleaner can freshen them up over the holidays.

Swap Box

Remember that there is a swap box with used shoes at everyone’s disposal. All we ask is to return the favour and add any of your outgrown shoes for others to enjoy.

Ballet Examinations

All Ballet students will receive another evaluation with a recommendation for exams in the new year. Ballet exams take place in June. As always, dancers can work hard to improve between now and exams in the Spring. Please see Mrs. Smith or your ballet teacher if you have any questions. Sitting in on class to record the exercises is always encouraged!

Competitive Company Showcase!

Every year, the competitive team performs their brand new routines for friends, family and the community in a Showcase at Simcoe Composite School! It is the first time that these pieces are danced in front of an audience before we take them to four competitions in the Spring. All proceeds from the performance go back to the kids. Please join us on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 1:00pm to support such amazing local talent! Tickets will be available in the New Year.

LNDC Spring Recitals!

Our recital dates are Saturday, May 31, 2025 & Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the Sanderson Centre in Brantford. We will be having THREE different shows this year. Each dance performs in only one show. As usual, we will be continuing classes after the recital with the opportunity for students to bring a friend and to try a class in another discipline.

Dress Rehearsal: Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at the Sanderson Centre.

Please check with your school for class trip conflicts now!

Recital Picture Day

Our Picture Day will be on Sunday, May 25, 2025 at the studio.
